Deepest Condolences

MDC SOUTHEND-ON-SEA BRANCH MESSAGE

The MDC Southend-on-sea Branch join hands with The MDC UK & Ireland Province and the MDC family around the world in expressing our sincerest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of illustrious cadre, Mr Paul Rukanda who lost his life in a road traffic accident just outside Kwekwe in Zimbabwe on Monday 13 May 2019. Paul Rukanda was Glenview South District Organising Secretary. The famously soft-spoken Rukanda was also Glenview South MP, Hon Vimbai Tsvangirai Java’s campaign manager.

We also mourn the passing away of Ward 7 Mount Pleasant Councillor, Sekuru Tafadzwa Mhundwa. Sekuru Mhundwa was the brother to the late Susan Tsvangirai.

To the Rukanda, and Mhundwa families we say “Our words can never give you relief from the heartache you endure today, But we pray that the God of all comfort will bind your wounds as you face tomorrow. We pray you take comfort in the expressions of love and respect from friends and colleagues. We thank you all for sharing vaMhundwa nava Rukanda with us, the MDC family.”

Mr Rukanda was travelling with the daughter of MDC Founder, Dr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai’s daughter, Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java when the collision occurred. Mrs Tsvangirai-Java who is understood to be in critical condition was transferred from Kwekwe to Harare.

We also wish Ward 16 Chairperson, Mai Muringani a speedy recovery. They were involved in a road traffic accident in Kwekwe Monday evening on their way from Bulawayo. May God’s healing hand prevail at this very moment. We pray for Mrs Tsvangirai-Java and Mai Muringani’s speedy recovery and also send well wishes for those affected by the incident.

MDC UK and Ireland Province Message

The MDC UK & Ireland Province extends heartfelt condolences to the Rukanda family on the tragic passing of their son Paul Rukanda on Monday, 13th May in a car accident near Kwekwe. Mr Rukanda was the Campaign Manager and Constituency Organising Secretary for Vimbai, daughter of the late MDC Founder, Icon and National hero, Dr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai. May God comfort the Rukanda family, his MDC colleagues, members and friends at this difficult time.

Hon Vimbai Tsvangirai Java was injured in the same accident and is currently in hospital. Our thoughts are with her and her family, we pray for full recovery.
